NDDOT Starting Salary: $6,419 / month

The Highway Safety Division is responsible to coordinate North Dakota’s Vision Zero strategy to reduce motor vehicle crash fatalities and serious injuries to zero. This occurs through broad stakeholder involvement to implement the North Dakota Vision Zero Plan.

This position manages highway safety program areas and applicable projects, This includes the following responsibilities:

Work to achieve eligibility for federal grant funds and assist with preparing annual grant applications
Review, analyze and evaluate crash data and ancillary traffic records data for program planning and evaluation
Plan, implement and evaluate highway safety programs/projects
Administer and monitor programs/projects in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations
Manage program/project budgets
Assist with public information and outreach
Coordinate and build program capacity through partnerships
Provide technical assistance and training to partners
Assist to plan and conduct highway safety conferences and events
Represent the Highway Safety Division as a subject matter expert at meetings, conferences, and other events.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for safety and a desire to make a positive impact. Must be self-directed, highly organized and able to manage time and priorities effectively, detail-oriented, capable of interpreting data and complying with regulations, and have a demonstrated ability to communicate well with a variety of groups.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree.
Four years of work experience leading to a level of knowledge, skill, and ability necessary to work independently in interacting with others, problem solving, decision-making, and meeting established goals through planning, organizing, and controlling work activities.
Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment. Employment is contingent upon the results of a criminal background check.
