Summary: The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for assessing resident needs, developing and/or identifying programming to meet those needs, making resource information available to residents, and providing linkages to needed services for low-income residents living in Burleigh County Housing Authority’s owned/managed housing developments. The ability to effectively coordinate services for residents directly impacts the organization’s mission statement in that it allows residents to maintain their housing for longer periods of time, enhances their quality of life and provides for greater incidence of safe, affordable housing for the populations we serve.

Salary

Hourly wage range is $18.00-$20.00 per hour depending on experience.

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments, community meetings, etc.) in order to offer residents, the opportunity to assist their community and to guide them towards appropriate services and resources.
2. Plan and coordinate recreational, cultural, and social activities in coordination with property operations staff and residents, as needed.
3. Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of available community resources (employment, education, social service agencies, etc.) for residents.
4. Create monthly calendars to inform residents of upcoming activities.
5. Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals, with an emphasis on providing housing stability services consistent with the needs of the housing development’s residents.
6. Monitor and manage activity program equipment, materials, and supplies.
7. Comply with state, federal, and local laws and regulations while designing activity programs.
8. Evaluate outcomes of regularly scheduled on-site programs and services as required for quality improvement.
9. Be an active member of the site team, working collaboratively with the property manager and other site staff to meet property needs and resolve resident problems.
10. Keep accurate and detailed records sufficient to quantify the number and frequency of individuals being contacted and the level of services provided.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
1. High school education or the equivalent.
2. CPR licensed and first aid training preferred.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate to a diverse group of people.
4. Internally driven to help others and provide solutions.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
6. Knowledge of event planning practices and techniques.

7. Ability to speak in front of large groups of people.
8. Demonstrated ability to establish trusting, confidential relationships.

Work Environment:
1. Typical office environment, exposure to fax machines and copiers, computers, scanners and printers.
2. Employee is subject to minimal noise level.

Physical Demands:
1. Physically able to perform duties such as standing for long periods, squatting, bending and lifting heavy objects.
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to hold objects, decorations, or crafts; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell.
3. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
4. Occasionally required to stoop or kneel.
5. Requires face-to-face contact/telephone/or use of technology for conversations/discussions with individuals or groups of people.
6. Requires use of a computer to process information.
7. May require independent travel to other locations with unknown environmental conditions and noise levels.
